Sports Journalist
Journalism + Sport Management Student at Elon University
I'm a Colombian-American journalism and sport management student at Elon University with a passion for telling stories that connect people through sports, culture and community.
Growing up in Statesville, North Carolina, I developed a love for sports through playing and watching soccer from an early age. I closely follow Charlotte FC, the Colombian National Team, European and South American football, and North Carolina sports, including the Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets and Carolina Hurricanes.
Currently, I serve as a sports journalist for Rising Phoenix, an Advancement Communications Intern at Elon University, and a contributor for West Franklin Media. My work ranges from feature writing and alumni profiles to live match coverage, postgame interviews and multimedia storytelling, including coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Outside of my professional work, I founded Renza Report, an independent sports publication where I produce match previews, tournament analysis and feature stories focused on the global game.
As a first-generation American, I'm passionate about using sports and journalism to connect communities, tell meaningful stories and highlight the people and cultures behind the game. I'm pursuing opportunities in sports journalism and digital media, with the long-term goal of telling impactful stories at the professional and international levels of sport.
